Very cool: “Dream Big” was a year-long project in which Peter Fecteau created a mosaic of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. using 4,242 Rubik’s Cubes. See more photos of this installation here.

I dig this.
This is really excellent:
This December, in a surprisingly simple yet ridiculously amazing installation for theGallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, artist Yayoi Kusama constructed a large domestic environment, painting every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas. Over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color.
More photos and words here about this exhibit.
Supakitch and Koralie wall art. Oldie, but a goodie.
I don’t know anything about this project or the artists, but I really like the vibe of this video. Art is awesome.
Shop ‘Til You Drop by Banksy.
Well done. Check out these before/after shots of the work in progress (allegedly, of course). Interesting.

I would LOVE to see one of these in the Walker Art Center Sculpture Garden. Might not be enough room, though?

I’m trying out the AutoStich iPhone app. So far, it’s very impressive.
Mugshot Monday - “Caffetto Cafe — Leopard” coffee mug with Light Bali Kintamani by B&W
This is a great coffee shop — I used to go to Caffetto when I lived on Franklin Avenue back in the old days. But for some reason I had not been back in ages.
I love the decor because it just feels cozy. The walls are decorated like a scrapbook of different genres of artwork, but it doesn’t look or feel chaotic. And there are also many pieces by Boxy Mouse Design Studio elegantly displayed with care like at an art gallery (pictured behind me in the shot).
The barista at Caffetto lamented she didn’t have a coffee mug with their logo on it, but did hand-pick the sweet leopard coffee mug for me! I believe it was made by Pier 1. I think it fits in perfectly at this venue. The coffee was fantastic, btw.
Caffetta is Coffee Shop #6 in Vita.mn’s list of “Best Coffee Hangouts” — I’m going to all of them for my Mugshot Mondays in the coming weeks (see progress here and scroll down).
