Mugshot Monday - “Computype” coffee mug with Guatemalan Dark Roast by Peace Coffee
I love the body of this coffee mug. So squat. And it’s heavy.
My friend Drew Wood acquired it in late 2010 or early 2011 when he was editor of MN Business Magazine (he’s now my coworker at Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine). Computype either mailed the coffee mug with a press release or he picked it up at an event.
When I saw it, I mistook “COMPUTYPE” for an early font company from the ’90s (I have NO idea who I was thinking of!), but I soon learned they are a “…trusted leader for barcode labels, label printers & barcode scanners for blood banks, laboratories, libraries & tire industries.”
It seemed a little ironic then that a trusted leader for barcode labels would have a QR code on the back of the mug that went to a dead link:
I’ll save you the time it’ll take to find your QR code reader app on your phone — hear’s the link: tiny.cc/69k99.
But I digress! I love this mug! Thanks to Drew for loaning it to me for my Mugshot Monday.
