Mugshot Monday - “Faux Scooby Doo Spooky Eyes” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
I say “faux” because I don’t think this is an official Scooby Doo branded coffee mug. But it reminds me of the ghastly ghouls in the old Scooby Doo cartoons, lurking in the shadows.
Also, the eyes only show up when you pour the coffee in! Holy!

Mugshot Monday - “Familia Skateshop” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
I stopped by Famila Skateshop the other day to pick up a new pair of iPath shoes and was stoked to see they have coffee mugs! Had to buy one.
I’m a former skateboarder. Here’s a picture of me doing an ollie way back in 1992. Fun times.
If you want to see some great skateboarding, check out Familia founder Steve Nesser in this video. So good:

Mugshot Monday - “Tabasco Brand Products” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
Hands down, my favorite Tabasco product is their Green Jalapeño Pepper Sauce. So good on everything!
Well, maybe not coffee, I guess?
(This coolio coffee mug was graciously donated to the MugshotMonday.com project by Corey Anderson.)

Mugshot Monday - “1993 City Pages P.S. Mueller Rush Limbaugh Cartoon” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
I attempted to scowl in this photo. I think I need to practice more.
This is an old-school 1993 City Pages coffee mug that my friend (and former City Pages co-worker, Corey Anderson) gave to me.
Amazing how relevant that P.S. Mueller cartoon still is today:

“If Rush Limbaugh Ran Things”“Thought Police!” — “I’m unarmed.”

Well done. I can’t stand listening to Rush, so I don’t. But apparently lots and lots (and lots) of other people do.

Send me a coffee mug for my Mugshot Monday! Seriously! Mail or drop it off — address is in the comments here (scroll to the bottom of the page).

Mugshot Monday - “Augsburg College” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
I am now an Auggie. And I have Mugshot Monday to thank for it!
A couple of weeks ago, @AugsburgCollege showed me some serious twitter love and eventually offered to send me a coffee mug for Mugshot Monday! That’s pretty dang cool.
At first, I thought the “Auggie” was the bird mascot dude. But I soon learned if you are an alumnus or a fan of Augsberg College, you are an Auggie. I am a fan and I have the mug to prove it!
Also, I discovered that Peace Coffee (the very coffee I am drinking from my Auggie coffee mug today) was co-founded by Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin — a graduate of Augsberg College! Small world with stars aligning, yo.

Mugshot Monday - “Red Square Agency” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
My friend Joe gave me this Red Square Agency coffee mug. It states: “This is my mug. There are many like it, but this one is mine.” Love it.
I asked Joe what the story was behind the mug. He replied, “Saw it at an ad agency in Mobile, Alabama and told them I needed it for a friend with Mug Obsessive Disorder.”
Perfection. Thanks, Joe!

Mugshot Monday - “Union Pacific Railroad” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
I came to work last week and found this Union Pacific coffee mug on my desk. It was a gift from Norbet Angell — he is my coworker Alyson’s father! He discovered my Mugshot Monday project and wanted to contribute a mug. He had worked for Union Pacific and had a spare coffee mug to share. I asked Norbert about what he did when he worked there:

Early in my career, I was a brakeman, conductor, fireman, locomotive engineer. I also served in various other positions over the years as a: Director of Transportation, Director of Terminal Operations, Director of Operations Support, and Director of Road Operations. During my entire time in management I never forgot my roots. I maintained my locomotive engineers license, which is current today. I enjoyed operating over 20,000 tons of screaming steel with 18,000 horsepower, @ 70mph. I retired after 38 years.

That’s pretty awesome. Love the coffee mug. Thanks, Norbert!

Mugshot Monday - “Kona.com: Relax. We’re on it.” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
This is my new Kona.com coffee mug! Kona is a new client for Ciceron (where I work) and I’m guessing you haven’t heard of them before.
Kona is like project management software for your personal life. You can get your tasks organized, which is cool. But you can also invite people to a private “Space” for these tasks if you need to collaborate and get stuff done. What’s really cool is that Kona allows for all the conversations associated with tasks!  No more email threads that I can’t find or figure out what was said last. Very nice.
Oh, KONA IS TOTALLY FREE, BTW! Get an account here. And be sure to let me know if you sign up. I need to know if you like it or if you don’t like it. (email me: karl[at]ciceron[dot]com)

Mugshot Monday - “Moose & Sadie’s” coffee mug with Peruvian Medium Roast by Peace Coffee
I stopped at Moose and Sadie’s today for a coffee this morning. I’ve always loved that photo behind me — I think that is actually “Moose” and “Sadie”. This coffee shop/cafe is responsible for getting me hooked on Cafe Mochas back in the 90s when I worked at City Pages just across Washington Avenue.

Mugshot Monday - “Vintage Countryside Stoneware ‘peach flowers’” coffee mug with a Dirty Chai by Peace Coffee Shop in front of an awesome North Star Roller Girls painting
You too can drink from this “peach flowers” coffee mug available at the Peace Coffee Shop. Or buy a similar mug on ebay here! I like the shape.
And check out that awesome painting behind me! Peace Coffee shop recently became the sole ticket seller for the North Star Roller Girls and currently have a great gallery of Roller Girl photos and paintings on display. [See the full painting here minus my mug(s).]

GPOYW: I asked my friend Chris Henderson to illustrate my Facebook Profile photo (cutrently the same one as my Tumblr and Twitter). Well, he took it a step further — he crafted this animated GIF using various Mugshot Monday shots! How cool is that?
Previous artists’ renditions of my profile pic are here and here.

Mugshot Monday - “Surly” coffee mug at Muddy Waters with Rwanda Light Roast by B&W Specialty Coffee
I had only been to the “old” Muddy Waters coffee shop once in my life, but that was unintentional. They are now at a new location on the same street, but they are a full restaurant and bar and coffee shop. The place is awesome and they have an incredible beer selection on tap:

I stopped by today for a coffee and the super nice bartender named Tea offered me Surly coffee mug when I asked if they had any cool mugs. Now, if I had been a little more sharp today, I would have had it filled with Surly Coffee Bender (I went there for lunch, btw). What was I thinking?
Muddy Waters is Coffee Shop #10 in Vita.mn’s list of “Best Coffee Hangouts” — I went to all of them and shot a Mugshot Monday. See the set here and scroll down. (I’ll post them all together later in a photoset).

Mugshot Monday - “Wonder Woman” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
This is a coffee mug I gave my wife for her birthday because she is totally Wonder Woman. Or maybe it was Mother’s Day? It’s great coffee mug. There is a quote on the back:

As lovely as Aphrodite. As wise as Athena.

That’s delightful! My wife actually dressed up as Wonder Woman for Halloween and it was awesome. And she rode a bike.
Btw, this is the second Wonder Woman Mugshot Monday I’ve taken — the first is here.

Mugshot Monday - “Custom @bigboxcar Twitter Mug”by Mug Revolution with Snow Shoe Brew by Peace Coffee
This is a cool coffee mug made by Owen Dearing of Mug Revolution out of Bend, Oregon. He does all kinds of customized handmade coffee mugs. This one is the “Twitter Mug” that has your twitter name and a cool bird stamp on the handle where you place your thumb:

See also: One of my fave mugs is in the background of the photo — the Twitter “Fail Whale” coffee mug by Yiying Lu.

Mugshot Monday - “All Day I Dream About Coffee” coffee mug with Snow Shoe Brew by Peace Coffee
Dig this coffee mug. Bought it at Seward Coop last year, but they no longer carry it! I know. But then I was able to get it special ordered at Bibelot, because they carry other items by Now Designs. Gave that one to my cousin for Christmas — she said she must have one after I posted a pic of it to Instagram. There is a boy version in blue, but it’s not as awesome.
Also, the painting in the background matches my shirt!
