Mugshot Monday - “Quixotic” coffee mug with Rwanda Dukunde Kawa by HalfWit Coffee Roasters Now THAT is a beautiful coffee mug. A 12 ounce giant. The coffee they serve here at Quixotic is a combination Pour Over and French Press — something I’ve never had before. It’s a very smooth cup of coffee, perfect for a Monday. And this is a very cool coffee shop. I enjoyed chatting up baristas Steve and Shelly who both agreed this has been the sunniest Monday in in the Twin Cities in a long time.

Now THAT is a beautiful coffee mug. A 12 ounce giant.

The coffee they serve here at Quixotic is a combination Pour Over and French Press — something I’ve never had before. It’s a very smooth cup of coffee, perfect for a Monday. And this is a very cool coffee shop. I enjoyed chatting up baristas Steve and Shelly who both agreed this has been the sunniest Monday in in the Twin Cities in a long time.

Mugshot Monday - “Chrysler New Characters(?)” coffee mug with Guatemala Apecaform Dark Roast by Peace Coffee I have no idea what this coffee mug is trying to tell me. But mostly I wanted to highlight some awesome Adam Turman prints in the background — a bunch of his artwork is on display at the Peace Coffee Shop right now. They’re only around $20-$40. I can’t decide which one to buy. The coffee mug has cartoon football players and the words: “The new Chrysler ten-position part numbering system it’s time we added a couple of new characters to the team.”Google has no idea what this is all about either. (I posted a panorama of it here.) I hear there are some Turman coffee mugs being sold somewhere, so I will hunt one of those down for sure.

Received ANOTHER MN Winter Storm Warning this morning calling for snow tonight (it’s APRIL-Freaking-Twenty-Second, yo). My kids will want to make another Springtime Snowman tomorrow morning, so I thought I should try and lighten my mood by drinking from my Snowman coffee mug today.  It’s not helping.

Mugshot Monday - “Augsburg College” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee This is my second Augsburg College coffee mug. My first suffered a broken handle during the clean-up from a prank involving a lot of Jell-o here at Ciceron HQ: I was super bummed. As fate would have it (and thx to Twitter) a new coffee mug was mailed to me — and with a few extras! An Auggie t-shirt, some can cozies and a bacon tie! So, it looks like I’m still an honorary Auggie even though my mug broke. This is a good thing. Now I need a fried egg sport jacket to go with my tie.

This is so dumb. I’m sorry, but I hate April 1st so I made a temporary mug to illustrate how inane today is. Of course I’m still drinking coffee. Duh.

Everybody thinks they’re so clever declaring something ridiculous today. I liked this post by Dave Winer about today: “The creepiest April 1 web page?” — I share his sentiment:

It’s bad enough that the people who indulge in this idiocy hurt their own reps, but it also makes it hard to do any communication on April 1. North Korea is threatening nuclear war. Haha. April Fools. Cyprus is having a run on the banks. No they’re not. But what if they are? What if there really is astounding news on April 1? Are you prepared to believe it?

Exactly. Is today over with yet?

Mugshot Monday - “Meråker Kommune” coffee mug with Starlight Blend by Caribou  This coffee mug came all the way from Norway! My wife has relatives from Meråker, Norway and they stopped by Minneapolis for a quick visit — that’s Hanne and me with two of my three boys piling in for the mugshot. Hanne has a wonderful family and we always enjoy seeing them. And they brought this official Meråker coffee mug! It’s perfect. [Check out more of my Mugshot Mondays here]

My wife has relatives from Meråker, Norway and they stopped by Minneapolis for a quick visit — that’s Hanne and me with two of my three boys piling in for the mugshot. Hanne has a wonderful family and we always enjoy seeing them. And they brought this official Meråker coffee mug! It’s perfect.

Mugshot Monday - “Necktie Coffee Mug by PLUG” with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee I don’t wear ties often. And that’s pretty obvious. My friend Dave Gatzmer designs really cool coffee mugs for his company PLUG (like this Necktie Coffee Mug and this Donut Coffee Mug, and more.) He gave me this mug and I was dismayed today when I realized my shirt and tie combos are sorely outdated. This was the best I could do. Oy. Gatzmer’s coffee mug has inspired me to go find some acceptable shirts and ties for future mugshots. I may even seek out some fashion advice from Chank and Tim Brunelle — they are some very dapper dudes. We’ll see how that goes and maybe I’ll redo this mugshot.

All coffee is served in these donated coffee mugs, so you never know what’s available. This one looked interesting enough! But google won’t find me any solid information about the coffee mug. Except this: “GRITS Gifts” was the closest thing I could find regarding where this mug came from This very mug sold for $25 on eBay. Well dang! Anyone know more about this logo on the coffee mug?
