Mugshot Monday - “Monkey” coffee mug by Jim Mulfinger w/ Guatemalan Dark Roast by Peace Coffee.
This is an awesome coffee mug, and I don’t own it.
I took a close-up shot to better show off its awesomeness. It has great texture, and some really cool monkey illustrations. There are actually three similar monkeys on the mug. And you also can’t tell from the photo, but this mug is surprisingly thin and has a really cool feel to it. It’s well built. I love this mug.
It’s an original made by local artist Jim Mulfinger, who unfortunately doesn’t have a website gallery I can link to or buy my own coffee mug from. I could only find this mnartists.org page, and there isn’t much more info on Mulfinger there. He’s made an appearance at the Northern Clay Center for a show in 2007.
I’ll try to get more info on how we can all purchase his excellent coffee mugs.
My friend Kara generously lent me this mug for this week’s Mugshot Monday. A potter herself, she drinks from the Monkey coffee mug on Mondays, too — she calls it her “Monkey Monday” mug. She has a Turtle mug, too. That one is for Tuesday, of course.
