SILVER & LIGHT
This is amazing. I had a darkroom as a teenager and in college, and it was a lot of work to make a picture turn out. I can’t even imagine making photographs the size he is making in this video. And using a truck as a camera? And developing the plates outside? Holy!

Ice Cube tells Bon Appetit Magazine he starts his day with Peace Coffee from Minneapolis
I wake up at 5:30, 6 in the morning, but don’t head into the office right away. I like to hang out with my wife, talk about things, get some coffee, you know.
I make a mean cup of coffee, if you give me the right ingredients. We usually have Peace coffee, or sometimes Starbucks, and I make it strong.(click pic for the rest of story)
That kinda rules.
Sixth graders: Give us time to eat at school | StarTribune.com
I know one of the kids who wrote this. Good post. My kids go to the same school as the authors and I had no idea they only had 15 minutes to eat lunch. That’s not right.
I love to watch you play.
The overwhelming response from college athletes when asked what their parents said that made them feel great, that amplified their joy during and after a ballgame. Via Six Words You Should Say Today | Hands Free Mama
That is so perfect. It even made me smile when I read it.
Just got this sweet Nice Ride MN poster this morning! The Parking Ramp C folks had coffee and cookies and stuff for their customer appreciation day event. Winning!

Mugshot Monday - “Augsburg College” coffee mug with Birchwood Blend by Peace Coffee
I am now an Auggie. And I have Mugshot Monday to thank for it!
A couple of weeks ago, @AugsburgCollege showed me some serious twitter love and eventually offered to send me a coffee mug for Mugshot Monday! That’s pretty dang cool.
At first, I thought the “Auggie” was the bird mascot dude. But I soon learned if you are an alumnus or a fan of Augsberg College, you are an Auggie. I am a fan and I have the mug to prove it!
Also, I discovered that Peace Coffee (the very coffee I am drinking from my Auggie coffee mug today) was co-founded by Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin — a graduate of Augsberg College! Small world with stars aligning, yo.
- Send me a coffee mug for my Mugshot Monday! Seriously! Mail or drop it off — address is in the comments here (scroll to the bottom of the page).
- See the entire Mugshot Monday Facebook gallery at www.MugshotMonday.com, or read more posts like it on this blog
How cool is this?! I’ve won my very first Instagram photo contest! Promoted by Spyhouse Coffee:
“The winner of Week 2 of the Spyhouse Photo Derby Challenge is @bigboxcar. Excellent capture of boys being boys.”
Nobody was hurt, btw. You can see all the entries here — and there are some very cool photos. My original uploaded photo is posted here. Fun!
Cardboard Monster Truck Hearse by Paul Sahre
Made for They Might Be Giants, Paul Sahre’s office concocted this mad scheme for a 12 foot tall cardboard monster truck hearse… that could be printed and assembled yourself at home. For reals: they managed to to confine the absolutely ginormous instructions on a PDF to be scaled to 3400% and taking 40 fuggin hours to print out. After that, alls you need is 30 mailing tubes and approximately 6,000 square feet of cardboard: the end result measuring 13 ft. tall x 13 ft. wide x 22 ft. long and weighing 500 lbs. No big thang, right? I want to print my own and crush smaller cardboard cars… I cant imagine all that hard work having a more satisfying conclusion. Check out tons more pics and videos of the car being constructed over at designboom, as well as They Might Be Giants’ video featuring the monstrous cardboard mobile below:
How I got my Augsburg College Coffee Mug and became an Auggie:
After posting a Mugshot Monday the other week, @AugsbergCollege engaged me in some Twitter dialogue’n. Result: I’m an honorary Auggie! AND I now own an Augsberg College Coffee Mug. It’s a good day. (I’ll be using it next week — until then, I’m keeping it under wraps.)
